Buildings covered: Buildings with fuel-burning appliances, fireplaces, or storage garages, based on adopted NBC/NFC provisions.

Where to install: Follows adopted National Building Code: inside each bedroom or within 5 m of bedroom doors, plus service room and adjacent suite provisions.

Power / type: CSA 6.19 alarms; battery, hardwired, or plug-in as permitted by adopted code.

Standard: CSA 6.19 Residential Carbon Monoxide Alarming Devices.

Maintenance: Must be maintained in operating condition; disabling prohibited.

Penalties: Enforced by the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency and local authorities.
